Planning for a Funeral
Funeral arrangements for a loved one at their time of death can be overwhelming. As you prepare to plan your loved one’s funeral, we invite you to consider the following:
CONFIRMING DATE/TIME AVAILABILITY
Please call our Parish Office to confirm date and time availability for a funeral before you plan with a funeral director.
Most funerals at Our Lady of Grace are scheduled Monday through Friday at 10:30 AM, with a visitation one hour prior to Mass.
PLANNING MEETING WITH OUR LADY OF GRACE STAFF
Schedule to meet and plan for 60-90 minutes with a member our staff in the Parish Office.
Some items required at this planning meeting include:
- Number of people expected
- A picture for the worship aid cover
- Music selections and Scripture passages
We will obtain an electronic copy of a picture for the worship aid cover from the funeral home if they’ve already scanned it. You will receive a Funeral Planning Guide containing options for music selections and Scripture passages at this planning meeting. As you prepare for this meeting, feel free also to consult some of the resources found at the below links on this page.
Most families choose to have a visitation hour in the Commons prior to the funeral. Tables, easels and a Smart Board are available to display pictures as needed. Our Lady of Grace requires a funeral director present for the visitation and funeral to assist with set-up needs.
Internment arrangements are made by the funeral home. Most families bury immediately after the funeral luncheon.
Please indicate that Our Lady of Grace requests fees to be paid directly from the funeral home when meeting with a funeral director.

Funeral Fees and Honoraria
Priest - $250
Organist/Pianist - $200
Soloist/Instrumentalist - $200 (per person)
Building Use/Custodial Fee - $150
Hospitality - $7 (per plate)
