Prayer Fair 2019

Prayer Fair_2018-2120 (2).jpg

Saturday March 2 – Sunday March 3, After all Masses

Where does prayer come from?
Scripture speaks sometimes of the soul or spirit,
but most often of the heart…
It is the heart that prays.
The heart is our hidden center,
beyond the grasp of our reason and others;
only the Spirit of God can fathom
the human heart and know it fully…
It is the place of truth…
It is the place of encounter,
because as image of God we live in relation:
it is the place of covenant.”
— CCC 2562-2563

Do you have a relationship with Jesus? Do you pray daily? Are you teaching your kids how to pray? Make plans now to join us for our annual Prayer Fair, an opportunity for you to hear from ordinary parishioners like yourself as they share about their own faith lives in a series of 20-minute workshops. You will gain insights into what others have found helpful in growing in their own holiness, hopefully giving you encouragement to say: I too can pray. I too can take time to be with Jesus and know his love! We have another great lineup of workshop leaders – something for everyone. This is a such a great gift – a time for all of us to grow in our faith and as a community, as well as learn how to respond with a heart filled with gratitude for all God has given us!

Workshops By Mass Time

Join us for a weekend of FAITH SHARING and FELLOWSHIP!

Each workshop is ONLY 20 MINUTES

Enjoy COFFEE and SNACKS as you listen to our workshop leaders

EXTENDED NURSERY CARE available after the 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM Masses

New this year: TWO WORKSHOP SESSIONS after the 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM Masses.

In addition to the workshops, ST. GEORGE’S TRAVELING BOOKSTORE and the SISTERS OF MARY MORNING STAR will be on hand, selling items to help you start preparing for Lent and grow in relationship with Jesus.

Extreme Faith Camp 2019

Monday, June 24, 2019 - Friday, June 28, 2019
Extreme Faith Camp is a week-long camp for students currently in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. It is a life-changing experience. We spend the week with teens from 8 other catholic parishes throughout the Archdiocese and have a blast with a variety of fun activities and we encounter Christ through the power of the Sacraments, challenging talks, and small group sharing. For more information please contact the PES Sisters at:

“This camp has truly moved me closer to God. I have learned more about myself and I learned to put God before everything.” - Charlie Shideman (6th grade)

What is Extreme Faith Camp?

EFC is a week-long camp for students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. It’s a real camp, for real teens, where together we will encounter Christ. Extreme Faith Camp is without a doubt a life-changing experience. We spend the week with teens from seven other churches throughout the Archdiocese and have a blast with a variety of activities and we encounter Jesus through the power of the Sacraments, challenging talks, and small group sharing. This Catholic Camp is the real deal!

"I have never felt so close to God before this week here at Extreme Faith Camp. I want to keep our relationship going as strong as it was for the rest of my life. This week I truly figured out how powerful God is and how much he can impact my life just through Adoration, Church, prayer, singing and lots of fun!" - Amelia Zdechlik (6th grade)

"The happiest moment of my life!"

"I was doubting my faith before Extreme Faith Camp. During Adoration the monstrance came in front of me and I touched it. At that moment I knew God was real. I felt it in my bones. The rest of the time was for prayer. It was the happiest moment of my life." - Joey Murnan (8th grade)

"Before going to EFC I thought I already knew God. Then, in Adoration something happened that I wasn't expecting at all; when Jesus came in the Monstrance and stopped right in front of me, it is like my eyes opened, I just knew that it was truly Jesus right there with me, not just a representation, but He himself loving me!" - Eddie Hanson (8th grade)

"No matter where I am, Jesus will always be with me!"

"During Adoration, as Jesus came around, I felt as I had never been happier in my life! When the monstrance left I felt sad but then one of my friends talked to me and I realized that Jesus was still with me, not just in the monstrance. What I have gained in this experience is the ability to know that no matter where I am, Jesus will always be with me!" - Jackie Commerford (7th Grade)

"This is my second year at Extreme Faith Camp! In Adoration I experienced Jesus much more than last year!" - Miguel Nunez-Mudoy (7th Grade)

"I am so grateful for these 5 holy days!"

"I thought the second year at EFC couldn’t get any better than the first. I was wrong, it was. These 5 days at EFC have been life changing. Through prayer, confession, the Eucharist, and fellowship, I have strengthened my faith and love for the Lord. Through tears and smiles I am more committed to the Church than ever before and I know I will never forget the changes EFC has done for me." - Alanna Halloran (7th grade)

"I grew in my relationship with God!"

"I really liked my small group, I knew Nicole, my leader, from Encounter, the Program that the Sisters run at OLG, I loved the camp better than any sleep-away and camp I have ever been to, I grew a happier relationship with God. I really want to come back next summer!" - Maddie Clemency (8th Grade)

Extreme Team and Prayer Team

This is an amazing Catholic summer camp experience for youth currently in grades 9-12. They spend the week as camp counselors for youth in grades 6-8. They get to participate in all of the same activities as the MSers! Activities such as: kayaking, canoeing, paddle boating, swimming, fishing, ropes courses, indoor gym and outdoor courts for basketball, wacky Olympics, arts and grafts, daily Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and reconciliation. For more information on how to get your Highschooler involved contact Veronica Whelan at

"This experience as a leader changed my life."

"This week I was really unsure why God was doing certain things in my life. My uncle was recently diagnosed with cancer and I didn't understand why God would allow that to happen to someone. In the Camp I went to confession and felt so relieved. But I was still confused. Then in Adoration I stared God in the eyes, I just felt so much comfort, like God was giving me a big hug. I felt like God help me understand so much more through Adoration! I felt like God was trying to tell me it was going to be all right."- Nicole Chrysler (High School Leader)

"Coming into camp, I had several doubts about God, felt that I was getting nothing from mass, and kept telling myself I was fine and didn’t need God. On the surface I looked like a happy person but deep down I didn’t have real joy or peace. Leaving camp, and reflecting on the past week, I saw how God transformed me. I had real joy and felt so at peace, nothing that I had ever experienced before. Sisters, thanks to your “yes” to God, His light has shown right through you and you have helped change many lives, more than you realize. Extreme Faith Camp was an experience I will never forget and I thank you so much for using your talents to make this camp such an amazing experience. Thank your for blessing us and God bless you!" - Grace Zdechlik (High School Leader)

"Thank you for a great week that was full of fun and faith. I was able to grow in my own faith and help the kids grow in their own. EFC was the most profound experience I have ever had with God, and it opened my eyes to the many blessings he has given me. I also saw many transformations throughout the other leaders and kids, which was great to see. I will continue to come back and help at this amazing camp in the future! Thank you for making this a great experience with God for all!" - Charlie Zdechlik (High School Leader)

"Totally blessed by the experience..."

"This is my second year as a Chaperone at EFC. Although I am here first for the kids I find myself feeling totally blessed by the experience. With reflection and prayer I can see some of the ways God is working through me and how much He loves the kids. It is truly a blessing to be a part of it and it fills me with joy!" - Susan Michael (Adult Chaperone)

"Seeing the kids grow helped me grow!"

"These days spent with the kids have been an awesome gift! Praying with them and sharing their experiences of faith through the week, really meant a lot. It is also a very humbling experience...seeing the kids grow in their faith helped me grow, too!" - John Braun (Young Adult Chaperone)

"The community at OLG is a gift!"

"I sent Maddie and Danny to this camp with much hope because they had a good experience with Encounter, the Program run by the Sisters. Well, Maddie, upon getting off the bus, told me she wanted to go next year, be part of the prayer team and eventually be a counselor. This is huge! So….THANK YOU, THANK YOU… This reaffirms the gift that is the wonderful community, family orientation and kid focus at OLG." - Katie Clemency (Participants' mom)

Get to Know the Sisters of Pro Ecclesia Sancta

We were blessed to become a part of the wonderful community of Our Lady of Grace in 2014, when we received the invitation to serve in Middle School Youth Ministry, to lead the 6th - 8th graders and their families closer to Christ. Since our arrival, we have had so many reasons to be grateful to be here, working and praying with all of you in order to make Jesus Christ more known and loved!

Fr. Pablo Menor, SJ, an apostle of holiness from the Heart of Christ, founded Pro Ecclesia Sancta in Peru in 1992 following an invitation from God to found an Order dedicated to remind every person that they are called to be great saints.

To live and promote holiness in the Church, with people at all stages and states of life. We seek to show that holiness is not far off, but that we can glorify God by doing everything the best we can with love.

We live and share the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which we see as the “shortcut” to holiness. By loving Jesus who has loved us so much, by making up with our prayers and good works for the offenses committed against His Heart, and with leading others to the Sacred Heart, we become united to Jesus, the Holy One of God and here find our joy!

Since our charism to live and promote holiness is one that reaches every person of every walk of life, the possibilities of pastoral ministries are very broad for us. We walk with youth, adults and families on their journey to holiness through retreats, small and large group formation, and spiritual direction, helping them to grow in the desire and giving them practical tools to be saints for the Heart of Jesus!

What do we do at OLG?

We want to be ambassadors of God’s love by helping you encounter Christ in your daily life and to grow in your commitment to your vocation to holiness.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Convent.jpg

Last June, in the month of the Sacred Heart, we were blessed to receive a convent in Bloomington that brought us closer to OLG. This convent is a gift that can receive so many more sisters who can love and give of themselves to God and His people in religious life. Our mission in the Sacred Heart of Jesus convent is to irradiate God’s love to the whole Church. We have been so happy to be able to welcome people to the Convent and join us for prayer, retreats and fellowship. The Lord has also shown us His love through you. It has been a blessing to receive your kindness, care and love. Your donations of time, talent and treasure has helped us continue to fix up the convent, so that this can be the home of the Sacred Heart.

“The Sisters of P.E.S. bring to their ministry a depth of experience and formation in working with families, youth and forming community with those they serve. I am grateful for their expansive joy and genuine kindness towards all. The presence of the Sisters of PES truly blesses our parish and school community.”

- Father Kevin Finnegan, Pastor -

“We have had three kids go through Faith Formation at OLG. The light of the Lord shines through the Sisters right into the hearts of our children.  We feel so blessed to have them help our kids grow in their faith.  They are always so supportive of families and full of joy. OLG is lucky to have them!”

- Paul and Mary Zdechlik, Faith Formation Family -

"The PES Sisters have been a wonderful addition to Our Lady of Grace! Their warm smiles and kind greetings bring light to everyone who comes through OLG's doors and their deep faith and love for Christ and His Church radiates to everyone they work with. It's such a blessing to have the PES Sisters at OLG!"

- Greg Aitchison, Religion Teacher at OLG School -

"Our journey started with a mutual friend recruiting me to help with "The Upper Room”. One of the many programs run by these fabulous women. And two years later I feel like I have seven lifelong friends. They are a Blessing to the students at OLG by their clear example of love for our Lord to just being present. How awesome that the students can talk with these women on a daily basis! Their stories are amazing. They are also a huge Blessing to the families of the OLG parish. From the programs they are involved in with the youth to the prayers they offer up on a daily basis for us. If you have never met them, I urge you to seek them out, have a chat, have dinner... it is a life changer. What a tremendous gift they are to us. And I feel confident in saying that anyone… young or old… that has met them would say the same. We love them!"

- Susan, Matt and Olivia Michael, OLG School Family -

"Since moving to Minnesota three and a half years ago, my little family has been abundantly blessed by the PES Sisters. Through personal relationship, individual spiritual direction and small group retreats, the Sisters always exude the love of God. I am grateful to know and love the PES Sisters."

- Mandy Seymour, OLG Counselor & P.E.S. Retreat Participant -

"I like learning with the sisters because they bring new perspectives in my relationship with Jesus and I think that it is awesome that we get to hear their knowledge of the Lord!"

- Noah Hecker, 6th Grade Encounter Faith Formation Program -

"The PES sisters not only recruited us to teach faith formation, but they have guided us, inspired us, and taught us so much by their example of holiness. They are incredibly generous with their time and have shared so much wisdom and insight. We are so thankful for their witness and ministry!"

- Kyle and Mandy Pederson, Encounter D-Group Leaders -

“The Pro Ecclesia Santca Sisters have been such a blessing to Our Lady of Grace’s Middle School Youth Formation programs. The joy and love they bring to the youth (and their families) is beautiful and transformative."

- Sean Lavell, Pastoral Associate for Mission & Discipleship -

"Having the Pro Ecclesia Sisters in our school community allows us the opportunity to live our faith with our classmates beyond school hours. The added focus on our faith has benefited our entire family. This experience has taught us with new ways to pray as a family, and learn new ways to be a disciple of Christ. Our lives have been enriched."

- Elizabeth Halloran, OLG Middle School Student -

"Our Lady of Grace has been abundantly blessed with the Sisters of Pro Ecclesia Sancta, who are women of deep faith and who lead with yes! They are a gift of joy to our entire community. We love our Sisters of P.E.S."

- Maureen Trenary, OLG School Principal -

Advent & Christmas Schedule 2018

What are you bringing to the manger?

In this season of gift giving, we know that nothing can equal the greatest gift of all – the gift of Jesus!

Just as the Magi brought gifts to the Manger of the Child, we invite you to bring your gifts of gratitude to the manger as well. Throughout Advent you have the opportunity to express your gratitude and bring your gift to the manger. You will find patterns to make a gift box in the Commons by the manger or click here to download one to print at home. Write your gratitude prayer, place it in the box and bring your gift box to the manger as an offering of thanks and love to the Christ Child. Let’s fill the manger with our presents of gratitude!

These gifts of prayers and thanksgiving will remain in our baptistery throughout Christmastide.

Let us join together this Season of Advent and Christmas as we prepare for and celebrate the birth of our Lord.

A Message from Father Kevin

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Gratitude – it lays the foundation for our faith life at Our Lady of Grace. As we reflect on all that God has given us, and move ever closer to Jesus, we move forward on mission – because love impels us! (cf. 2 Corinthians 5:14).
Today, over 7,700 members call our parish home. Together, we are called to live lives of magnanimity, sharing with others from the substance of our lives and hearts. Wherever you are at in your faith journey, I welcome you and your family to ponder how you might serve within our parish community and share your gifts.
If you have already completed and returned your Stewardship Commitment Card – thank you!  We are grateful for your response.
If you have not responded, I invite you to participate in our renewal by completing this online Stewardship Commitment Form. Your efforts in responding more fully enables us to continue the valuable ministry God calls us to do as a parish.

May God bless you,
Father Kevin Finnegan, Pastor
