“Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you." Luke 14:13 -14
In the Gospel today, Jesus warns us not to give in hopes of repayment, but to give open handedly to the poor and needy. That sort of giving mirrors the bountiful giving of God, and Jesus assures us it is blessed indeed. Pray this week to become a more selfless giver who understands the true reward for our giving awaits us in heaven.
