A Season of Change: A Letter from Fr. Marc Paveglio

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

May seems like the season for everything. Graduation season. Prom season. Confirmation season. Ordination season. It’s a season of springtime for our local Church too, as May 13 saw the installation of the ninth Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, His Excellency Bernard A. Hebda. He loves Jesus, he loves the People of God, and he loves meeting new folks. Fr. Kevin and I are enthusiastic and eager to see how the Lord will continue the work of renewal in our local Archdiocese through our new bishop.

At Our Lady of Grace it is also a season of changes. We welcome Jamie Sullivan and Caroline Redelmeier as new members of our administrative staff. They bring a wealth of skills to the Lord’s vineyard, and their mirth and friendliness precede them. Say hello to them the next time you pop into the parish office!

It is also a season of change for me. Last weekend I announced at all Masses that my ministry at Our Lady of Grace is coming to a close. I do not yet know where my new assignment will be, but it will be somewhere within the Archdiocese. I have been blessed beyond measure to begin my priestly life and ministry here with all of you. I am grateful for your friendship, for your witness of faith, for your devotion to the Lord, and for your support. As I begin this transition, please keep me in your prayers. My final weekend at OLG will be June 12. Our Lady has been watching over me for a long time, and I’m sure she will continue to do so. She is indeed the bearer “of Grace” – of Jesus Himself. May all of us strive to imitate our patron in her loving concern for Christ, and her wise and merciful care of everyone around her.

In Christ,

Father Marc Paveglio
Parochial Vicar
