Zak, Jerome M. "Jack" age 95 of Minneapolis, MN formerly of Sherack/Tabor, MN, passed away on November 13, 2016. Born in Tabor MN, on October 18, 1921, to Frank and Nora Zak, the 4th of eight children. Jack worked on the family farm during WWII. He married Marie F. Boutain on November 27, 1944 and together they had three children: Ronald, Joanne and Timothy. Shortly after the conclusion of WWII, his marriage to Marie and the birth of their first child Ronald, Jack began working on the farms of his uncles Edward and Louis Zak until he was hired as the manager of grain elevators in Key West, MN and Sherack, MN. In the early 1960's, Jack left the grain elevator management business and was hired as the manager/operator of the Farmers Union Oil Cooperative in Sherack which later become affiliated with Cenex in the 1970s. Jack enjoyed tremendous success while leading the Cooperative until his retirement in 1997, which was dissolved upon his departure. Jack and Marie made their retirement home in Hastings, MN. Jack remained active in retirement, working part-time in the hardware section of a local department store and spending quality time with his family including his grandchildren: Parker, Sophia and Matthew, whom he loved very much. Preceded in death by wife of 65 years, Marie; son, Ronald; siblings, Robert Zak and Dorothy Crews. Survived by daughter, Joanne Zak; son, Tim (Kathleen) Zak; grandchildren, Parker, Sophia, and Matthew Zak; and siblings, William Zak, Eileen Roberts, Franklin Zak, Milada Kover, and Margaret Duke. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, November 16th 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Grace Church (Chapel) 5071 Eden Ave. Edina, MN. Visitation one hour prior to mass at church. Interment Thursday 12:00 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Crookston, MN.
