Thank You to the OLG Parishioners Gave So Generously this Holiday Season

THANK YOU!!  During this holiday season the parishioners of Our Lady of Grace were very generous to those in need. I am awed by your outpouring of support for our less fortunate brothers and sisters.  As you know, we gave over 6600 pounds of food for our Thanksgiving food drive. That’s over 500 pounds more than last year. Through the Men’s Club Tree lot, we had collected 1100 boxes of cereal, 2000 pounds of food, and 2500 articles of clothing by December 17th.  Astonishingly, over sixty percent of the clothing articles were new!  In addition, the Giving Trees brought in over 75 gift cards to Target, Cub, and other retailers; 146 people contributed approximately $39,000 to scholarship funds to benefit Our Lady of Grace High School in Ghana, the San Maximiliano Kolbe Education Ministry and John Paul II Prep (JPII) in Northeast Minneapolis.  OLG parishioners brought in hundreds of toys, books, clothing and household goods that went to our local ministry partners such as STEP, VEAP, Sharing and Caring Hands, Ascension Place, and the Minneapolis Crisis Nursery.  Because of you, kids at JPII received gifts from Santa Anonymous and kids at St. Peter Claver now have warm winter gear.  Thank you for following what Jesus said: “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and five glory to your Father in heaven” Mt. 5:16  And thank you for being an inspiration to me.  May God Bless you abundantly in 2017.
