Catholic Grandparents Ministry

On August 27, 2016, the Catholic GrandparentMinistry was launched by the Archdiocese to engage all grandparents in the gift of being grand!Grandparents are so important for passing on the faith to the family and others. The Office of Evangelization & Catechesis invites you to the following upcoming events: 

  • May 10: Regional Grandparent Meeting
  • May 24: Grandparent Study Group Training Workshop
  • June 14: Grandparent Technology Workshop
  • June 27: Grandparent & Grandchild Pilgrimage, Cathedral
  • August 26: Catholic Grandparent Conference

Regional Grandparents Meeting: May 10

On Wednesday, May 10, Mary Pedersen will present Passing on the Faith: Naming Grace in the Domestic Church. This Regional Grandparents Meeting will be held from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. at St. Pius X in White Bear Lake. The Rosary will be prayed for grandchildren at 7:15 p.m. All are welcome to the regular parish Mass (6:30 p.m.) and Rosary (7:15 p.m.) in the church. Click here to register. Grandparent Study Group Training Workshop: May 24

At this workshop on Wednesday, May 24 from 5:30-7:00 PM you will learn more about our new study guide, "Grandparents: Living the Faith on Our Journey to Eternity" intended to accompany the EWTN Grandparent video series and learn more about The Grand Adventure: A New Call to Grandparenting. Both Grandparenting programs were created in response to an observed need in today's society to make better use of the grandparenting connection in family life. This workshop will take place  in Saint Joseph Hall of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul & Minneapolis Chancery. Click here to register. Grandparent Technology Workshop: June 14

Your grandchildren use technology to communicate. Now you can keep in touch with them using the same tools! Learn how to use texting, FaceTime, Skype and more. This will be a hands-on workshop with volunteers to help you learn how to use technology to communicate with your family. 

Grandparents are invited to this technology workshop on Wednesday, June 14 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. The guest speaker will be Don Eldred, an Information Technology Services Technician with the Archdiocese.This workshop will take place in Saint Joseph Hall of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul & Minneapolis Chancery. A free-will offering of $10.00 is suggested and light refreshments will be served. Please register online today!

Registration will open soon for: Faith and Freedom: Grandparents and Grandchildren pray at the Cathedral!
Grandparents are invited to bring your grandchildren to a fun and prayerful hour-long pilgrimage to the majestic Saint Paul Cathedral on Tuesday, June 27 at 1:00 p.m. This event will include a brief education of the Mass by Father John Paul Erickson, Director of Worship for the Archdiocese of St. Paul & Minneapolis, as well as time for prayer in the Shrine of the Nations, singing and learning about Adoration and Benediction. It will end with hospitality and a chance for browsing items from a local Catholic bookstore in Hayden Hall in the Cathedral basement.
