Today the Church rejoices in the Resurrection. We rejoice in the gift of Jesus rising from the dead victorious over sin and death.
Today we gather as a family. How good and pleasant it is when we gather as sisters and brothers. How wonderful it is that through Jesus’ Death and Resurrection we received the gift of God's mercy and reconciliation, reconciling us not only with God but one another.
A particular welcome to all visitors today. Whether you’re home enjoying your family or simply wandered in off the streets – you honor us by your presence. You are always welcomed. As we celebrate together our Easter faith, let's keep one another in prayer, let us encourage true holiness in each other, which is simply loving more and more each day.
Indeed our annual and -- yes, weekly -- remembering and participation in the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ at Sunday Mass bids us to live in love and to live lives of love. It’s what we Christians have done for 2000 years – and still counting.
Alleluia! This is the day the Lord has made! Let us rejoice in it and be glad! Alleluia!
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Fr. Kevin Finnegan, Pastor
Congratulations to our Catechumens and Elect who, in full communion of the Church, will be receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil.

THE FIRST EASTER AFTER CONFIRMATION
8th Grade Parish Confirmation Student
I’ve been attending Our Lady of Grace Parish for 13 years. I was baptized here, and had my First Reconciliation and Communion here as well. My family typically attends the 11:30 AM Mass. I’m an 8th grader at Valley View Middle School in Edina. I’ve been in the Faith Formation Program here at Our Lady of Grace from first grade until now. Since my confirmation, I feel that I have grown a lot closer to God through my faith. Going to faith formation classes on Wednesday nights have been a very good experience all the years I’ve done it, but somehow seems different now. I don’t feel as if I’m working towards an event years in the future, but learning how to apply my faith more and more into my everyday life. I am very excited for this Easter, it being my first Easter after confirmation and hope that my faith grows continuously in the years to come.
8th Grade OLG School Confirmation Student
My family and I have been part of the OLG School and Parish since I was 4 years old. Since my Confirmation, I have felt like I had a fresh start and a new chapter in my life. The Holy Spirit has now entered my life in a new way and my Confirmation saint, Saint Christopher, now can help guide me through the path of life. I feel changed and like I now have more protection, guidance and faith in my life. As I continue my faith journey, this Easter will be very special. I am looking forward to celebrating it with my family because it will have a much stronger meaning to me now that I am confirmed.
8th Grade Confirmation Discipleship Small Group Leader
I volunteer at OLG by co-leading a Confirmation Small Group of ten 8th grade girls, including my daughter, Georgia. I wanted to volunteer in this way for a couple of reasons. First, I wanted to understand better what my daughter was being taught in her last formal year of Faith Formation. I also wanted to give back to the OLG community of faith by working with the PES Sisters - just being around the sisters lowers my blood pressure and makes me feel closer to God. Finally, since Georgia is my youngest child, I wanted to try to slow time by sharing this experience with her. Our small group sessions have helped our youth to learn about themselves as humans in the Catholic Church and how they are uniquely created for greatness by God.
Now that our students have been confirmed, they have received the gift of the Holy Spirit. I am confident that they know that their families, sponsors and the whole OLG community supports them; praying that being confirmed will inspire to continue to build their relationships with Jesus. Our class continues to meet most Wednesday nights. As we prepare for Easter now – their first Easter after Confirmation – my greatest wish for them (and for me, too) is that they can find quiet moments in their lives to hear Jesus. Last week after class when Georgia said to me, “You did good tonight, Mom”, time stood still for me. The Holy Spirit is alive within her, and I am blessed.
