Funeral Notice: Arthur Julius Finklea

Nov. 13, 1924 - July 11, 2018

Arthur Julius Finklea was born Nov. 13, 1924, in Foley, Ala., and passed away July 11, 2018 in Milwaukie. Arthur attended Pensacola High School and in February 1943 enlisted in the Army Air Corps. Art was in active duty during WWII in India and Guam. After the war Art moved to Minneapolis, where he met his bride to be, Mary Kerich. Art and Mary married Oct. 14, 1950. They lived in St. Louis Park, Minn., for 33 years, where they raised their three children. Art had a long career working as an electrician for Northern States Power (Xcel Energy). Art was a member of the IBEW for 70 years.

Mary preceded Art in death in December 2014. Art is survived by his three children, Edward (Erin) of Ashland, Ore., Charlotte (Michael Dunn) of Santa Ana, Calif., Richard of Minneapolis; and his granddaughter, Lorraine Finklea of Baltimore. Burial with military honors will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, Minn. The family wants to thank The Springs at Clackamas Woods and Dr. Richard Goldenberg for over a decade of care. Our parents' many friends from West Linn will always be treasured by the family.
