Anderson, JoAnne (Spillane) and James Lee JoAnne (Spillane) Anderson, born January 8, 1932 earned her wings on June 22, 2019, leaving behind the love of her life. James Lee Anderson (Jim), born January 10, 1932 joined JoAnne when he earned his wings on July 3, 2019. They were both 87. They were preceded in death by their son James Keith Anderson (Jamie). JoAnne was a loving mother who was fortunate to stay at home with her four children. She coveted her role as the keeper of the family history and enjoyed countless hours of conversation sharing stories and pictures of past generations with the family. She enjoyed bridge, golf and spending time with her treasure-trove of friends. Jim served eight years in the United States Naval Air and was stationed in Hawaii during the Korean War. Jim worked for Honeywell for 35 years and was instrumental in installing the first on-line interactive systems in Honeywell's factories and distribution centers as well as the first bar code system used in a Honeywell factory. Through his work, he became a curriculum advisor for area vocational technical colleges. After retiring from Honeywell, he joined Dytec, Inc. in St. Paul where he established the Systems and Consulting Services Division. Jim enjoyed golf, cooking and socializing. Married for 67 years, they lived their life together in a loving partnership that took them on many adventures. In 1974, Jim was transferred to The Netherlands where the family lived for 2-1/2 years. The culture, travel and friendships were among their fondest memories. However, they always longed to return home to family, friends and cabin life. While they could, they enjoyed traveling by road trip to nearly all of the Presidential Libraries. After their parents passed, Jim and Jo served as the family Patriarch and Matriarch and held the "spirit and love of family" in their highest regard. Jim and Jo loved entertaining and always looked forward to gathering together, those that they loved so dearly. As grandparents and great grandparents, they spent as much time as possible with them attending their school and sports events and enjoying weekends at the cabin. They are survived by their children Julie (Bob), Jacqui (Matt) and Jeff (Dori), 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many other beloved family members. The family would like to thank the Kindred Hospice Care Team for their kindness and the loving care they provided to our parents and our family. With their amazing care, we were able to keep our parents together in their home. We invite you to share in the celebration of their lives on Friday, September 6th at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Edina, Minnesota. Visitation will begin at 10AM and service will begin at 11AM with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be welcomed.
