Corpus Christi Sunday

DSC_8896.jpg

Sunday, June 23, After the 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM and 6:00 PM Masses
This feast was established in 1246, extended to the universal Church by Pope Urban in 1264. On this feast day it is customary after Mass to process “into the world” with the Blessed Sacrament. Many processions wind their ways through city streets, such as Pope Francis did in processing from St Peter’s Square to the streets of Rome. Along the route, four altars are established representing the four corners of the world. Prayers are offered for the world at each stop. The congregation joins the procession and sings along the way.

Next week Our Lady of Grace will experience a Corpus Christi procession, though on a smaller scale! After Masses, we will be having a procession to an outside altar. There will be Exposition, a few minutes of Adoration, reading of Scripture and prayers. Afterwards there will be refreshments on the lawn. Should the weather not cooperate, we will move everything to Cassidy Hall.

We invite all those who recently made their First Communion to come that day dressed in their First Communion clothes and join in the procession! Join us for this special day in our Liturgical Year!

They especially need winter gloves for children, flip flops, ear buds, lotions, bath/lotion sets, full-sized toiletries, and new twin-sized sheets.

Parishioners are also invited to assist the Middle School Service Club (MSSC) with a service project in the Dining Room from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Advent & Christmas Schedule 2018

What are you bringing to the manger?

In this season of gift giving, we know that nothing can equal the greatest gift of all – the gift of Jesus!

Just as the Magi brought gifts to the Manger of the Child, we invite you to bring your gifts of gratitude to the manger as well. Throughout Advent you have the opportunity to express your gratitude and bring your gift to the manger. You will find patterns to make a gift box in the Commons by the manger or click here to download one to print at home. Write your gratitude prayer, place it in the box and bring your gift box to the manger as an offering of thanks and love to the Christ Child. Let’s fill the manger with our presents of gratitude!

These gifts of prayers and thanksgiving will remain in our baptistery throughout Christmastide.

Let us join together this Season of Advent and Christmas as we prepare for and celebrate the birth of our Lord.
