Sunday Readings: Lk 19:28-40/Is 50:4-7/Ps 22:8-9, 17-20, 23-24/Phil 2:6-11/Lk 23:1-49
The Palm Sunday liturgy celebrates opposite poles of the human heart. In one instance we are proclaiming Jesus as king; in the next, we are betraying, denying and ultimately crucifying Him. Is Jesus God? There is no greater question for man to ask. We can answer with faith, outright rejection, or with a more disturbing option that has pervaded our culture: indifferentism, where Jesus’ claim to divinity is about as important as which socks we wore today. Accepting the claims of Jesus and believing them - faith - gives us everything. Without faith we have nothing. Pray during this Holy Week for the desire to be part of Jesus’ redemptive plan, to walk in faith and love with the one who died for our sins.
