Planning for a Funeral

The death of a loved one is a difficult and sad time. At Our Lady of Grace, we're here to support you through prayer and pastoral care. When planning a funeral, we ask that you contact the parish office so that we may help you make funeral arrangements. You may do this by calling 952-929-3317. Some of the materials on this page will be helpful to you in the planning process. Click on the links below to access the different resources. You will receive a Funeral Planning Booklet containing much of this information when you have your funeral planning meeting at the parish.

“Love is stronger than death even though it can’t stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries it can’t separate people from love. It can’t take away our memories either. In the end, life is stronger than death.”

Scripture Reading Selections

For a Funeral Mass, the family may pick one Old Testament Reading, one New Testament Reading, and a Gospel. The following is a list of common funeral readings. While you are by no means limited to these suggestions, the readings do need to be from Scripture. Please note that the psalm will always be sung, so do not select a psalm as one of your readings.
