Frequently Asked Questions

  • A small group is a group of people gathered in the name of Jesus around the Word of God for friendship, spiritual growth, and prayer.

    OLG Small Groups consist of 6-12 people who meet in homes, offsite at local places, or onsite at Our Lady of Grace.

    Groups commit to share life and faith together. Life in small groups oftentimes leads to connection outside of group meetings.

    Group time will include a time of relational connection, spiritual growth through teaching and discussion, and prayer with and for one another.

  • There are a variety of groups meeting with a many different days and times available.

    • Gender specific groups like men’s groups and women’s groups that may be specific to a certain state in life

    • Co-Ed groups and mixed groups of singles and married couples or multigenerational groups

    • Groups with married couples in similar states of life, ie. Newly married or empty nesters

    • Some group leaders have a desire to focus in on particular topics like aging well, recovery from addictions, those supporting others or struggling themselves with mental illness.

  • Each small group meeting will include some arrangement of the following 7 moments:

    1. Praise and Thanksgiving
    2. Personal Sharing
    3. Teaching
    4. Discussion about the Teaching
    5. Announcements
    6. Intercessions for those Outside the Group
    7. Healing Prayer for Group Members

  • Groups meet on different days and at different times in order to accommodate the right fit for each group. We continue to launch new small groups as leaders are formed, trained, and ready to begin.

    Generally, groups meet 2-4 times per month based on the small group leaders discernment as well as group member availability.

    Small groups typically meet for 90 minutes with freedom to stay longer for hospitality and fellowship.

    In Lent of 2024, Small Groups will be invited to begin with a 5-7 week season as they get started. Established small groups are encouraged to keep meeting as their schedule allows, and discern the ongoing pace and teaching content moving forward.

  • Preference is given to meeting in homes, but many groups meet offsite at a local establishment or onsite at Our Lady of Grace

  • Many small groups will discern together what content they would like to go through, such as a series like Walking with Purpose or Endow. All content must be approved by the Pastor and Executive Team.

    OLG offers Community in Christ on Monday evenings (a group of parishioners who journeyed together with Catechism in Year, and now continue to learn about their Catholic Faith)

    Cana Family Institute offers a 4– year formation series for mothers and fathers of young children. It helps each to deeply embrace the truth about who they are and who they are created to become, beloved sons and daughters. From that newfound or deepened identity we can discover His call into mission not only our own personal discipleship but also making disciples in our family and to other families.
