Call Me - Fall 2023

Call Me: A Catholic Young Adult's Guide to Dating, Discernment, and I Do. This five-part series dove into the world of dating, discernment, and the beauty found in pursuing God’s call as a young Catholic (ages 21-35). Call Me was hosted by Ashley Cermak and Kory LaCroix, and featured Ryan O'Hara and Pat and Kenna Millea of the Martin Center. Discover practical tips and advice on navigating the dating scene while staying true to your Catholic values. Topics included building healthy relationships, discerning God's call for your life, and preparing for the sacrament of marriage.

Time for God - Winter 2022-2023

A series on Prayer. It’s our relationship with God. We take time to praise, thank, ask, and relate with God, but it’s not easy. Distractions, time, and lack of desire are just a few reasons we drift away from prayer. And it happens to everybody.

We turned to Father Jacques Philippe's, “Time for God” as our guide in this 3-part series on prayer. Our nights included a talk highlighting the reading, small group conversation with other YPs, and learning/practicing a prayer method.

Theology of the Body - Fall 2022

OLG was joined by Jen Messing, founder of Into the Deep, for this four part series on Theology of the Body. Each night kicked off with a reflection by Jen Messing, into small group discussion, and finished with a big group conversation/Q&A. We talked through the Church’s teaching on sex and how it applies to our lives and the world we live in. This included questions like: Why did God create us male and female? What will lead me to ultimate fulfillment? What am I made for? What is the Church’s reasoning behind its teachings on sex?

School of Mission - Spring 2022

The OLG School of Mission was a five-week study exploring mission, evangelization, and what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. This series inspired, formed, and equipped participants as missionary disciples, giving them practical tools and tips that could be applied to everyday life.

The Chosen Season One - Winter 2021-2022

“The Chosen” is an extremely popular TV show that brings Jesus and his time on earth to life in an authentic, not gimmicky or cheesy, way. In this eight part series, we gathered together to watch an episode of The Chosen together – without any distractions. After each episode, we had time for table conversation. Three reviews from the series:

“In the film, Jesus and especially the apostles became so much more real, believable and I could better relate to them, I cried several times.”

“Seeing Jesus have such a good sense of humor was fun. Each episode opened new doors to understand and relate to Jesus and the gospels. Makes mass even better!!”

“I loved watching the humanity of the disciples. They didn't have the answers, they didn't know what they were doing. They had blind trust. It makes it easier for me to try to follow Jesus.”

Why do Catholics…? - Summer 2021

In this four part series, we researched what we believe, why we believe it, and how we can live it. The night kicked off with a talk, led into small group discussion, and finished with large group conversation. We opened up our Catechisms, Bibles, and other resources to find answers to the questions about why we do/believe what we do as Catholics.

Heart Speaks to Heart - Fall 2021

A four-part series on the life, work, and spirituality of one of the greatest 19th-century saints, St. John Henry Newman. The priest, poet, writer, theologian, and cardinal was first an Anglican priest and founder of the Oxford Movement, and then soon became the most famous convert of the 19th Century. This series guided participants through Lent inspired by the writings, work, and witness of Newman. This was facilitated by Dr. Ron Snyder, OLG parishioner, and local lecturer and teacher on St. John Henry Newman.
