About the Faith Formation (Grades 1-5) Programs
Forming the faith of our youngest members is important to the people of Our Lady of Grace! In addition to Our Lady of Grace Catholic School, we demonstrate our commitment to forming our young people by offering 75-minute Religious Education classes to all parish children in Grades 1-5, from 6:00 - 7:15 PM on Wednesday evenings. Classes are typically in session from late September through early May, following the Our Lady of Grace School calendar as closely as possible. Registration begins in April and continues through August. Most sessions offer large group communal prayer, as well as small group (grade-level appropriate) lessons.
Lessons may include:
listening to stories
singing
playing games
creating crafts
opportunities for communal Reconciliation
prayer services
service projects
Faith Formation Curriculum
For children in Grades 1-5, we follow the Loyola Press "Finding God" curriculum. Students who attend a Catholic elementary school during the day typically do not need to enroll in evening religious education classes.
