Beginning Monday, November 17, we will welcome a School/Campus Resource Officer to our team. This addition will provide a consistent and visible presence on campus, supporting daily operations and emergency preparedness. We will also continue maintaining our existing security coverage at all school Masses to ensure ongoing safety during liturgical gatherings.
In addition, we are taking the following short-term steps to strengthen campus security:
Notification System: Implemented to allow the school to instantly send texts, voice calls, and emergency notifications to families and staff as needed.
Visitor Management System: Actively evaluating a new and more comprehensive system to instantly monitor and manage all visitors.
Security Cameras: Additional cameras will be installed on the campus to enhance visibility and coverage.
Window Safety Film: More protective safety film will be applied to exterior windows to further secure our facilities.
Establish a Parish/School Safety Committee: Augmenting our existing School Safety committee.
Looking ahead, Our Lady of Grace is committed to ongoing investments in safety. Future safety considerations include:
Hiring a Campus Safety & Security Director to oversee and coordinate all safety initiatives.
Installing an updated alarm system with improved monitoring capabilities.
Adding bollards, trees, and fencing to reinforce perimeter security.
Implementing an anonymous reporting system to empower students and staff to share safety concerns confidentially.
Installing bullet-resistant windows for enhanced protection in key areas.
