G.T. Mork, (age 83), of Eden Prairie, MN, died on September 7, 2026. He was born on June 20, 1943, to Harlan and Mable “Chickie” (Murray) Mork in Minneapolis. G.T. was raised in Golden Valley before moving to Sarasota, Florida where he was a member of the first graduating class at Cardinal Mooney High School. G.T. attended Fordham University in New York City, graduating in 1967 with a degree in Economics.
In 1964 he married Jerry Ellen Gerow (now Jerry Ellen Palmer) and together they welcomed four children; Darran, Kristin, Harlan, and Holbrook.
He began his career as a stockbroker with Kidder Peabody in New York. In 1969, the family relocated to Minneapolis, where he embarked on a long and successful career in real estate, first as an independent developer, and later as a commercial broker with Towle Real Estate.
In 1979, G.T. began a journey of recovery. He was forever grateful for the spiritual gifts he received, for the fellowship of his peers, and for the positive impact it had on his life. G.T. would go on to dedicate many years to helping others navigate the journey of sobriety.
In his spare time, he sailed with his family in the Apostle Islands, later racing with friends both on Lake Superior and at Wayzata Yacht Club on Lake Minnetonka. As a runner, he completed more than twenty marathons. Highlights included competing in the 100th Boston Marathon and finishing Grandma’s Marathon alongside three of his four children. He also indulged a lifelong love of motorcycles, competing in motocross rallies into his seventies, and touring Europe, China, and South America with his riding friends. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend who loved being with family, sharing laughs, and building joyful memories together.
GT is survived by his children Darran (Mick) Spence, Harlan (Jessica) Mork, and Holbrook Mork; grandchildren Sophia Spence, Russell Spence, Griffin Spence, Rose Basile, Rocco Basile and Alex Mork; siblings Joyce Butler, Marilee Senior, Deb Fritz and Theresa DeGarmo; and special friend Terry Jacobsen. He was preceded in death by his parents Harlan and Mable “Chickie” Mork, siblings Dempsey Mork and Steve Mork, and daughter Kristin Mork.
Visitation will begin at 10 AM prior to the Funeral Mass, and a luncheon will immediately follow. Interment after the luncheon at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights.
Memorials or donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in honor of his daughter Kristin.
