OLG Outreach Partners

Our Lady of Grace has a number of long-standing partners in ministry and outreach that work to meet the basic needs of the community. We support many of these organizations financially and spiritually, as well as through parishioner donations. Some of our partners are listed below.

Monthly Donations

Each month, we collect donations for local partners based on the most critical needs in our area. We always collect food for VEAP, STEP and other local food shelves. In addition, each month we have a special collection for items our outreach partners have requested. Bins are located outside of Cassidy Hall.

  • OLG has a long-standing relationship with Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (VEAP). This organization serves Edina, Richfield, and Bloomington. One of the bins outside Cassidy Hall is designated for VEAP year-round. VEAP helps build pathways to stronger, more hopeful communities -through providing access to healthy food, ensuring housing stability, and offering supportive services. On average, the OLG community donates 200 lbs of shelf stable foods to VEAP each week. Additionally, OLG regularly collects household supplies, school supplies and other needed items for families utilizing VEAPs services.

  • STEP serves St. Louis Park residents by providing food and other necessities to those who find themselves in need of emergency help. STEP can provide help with utilities, housing assistance, and transportation. Each Fall OLG holds a Thanksgiving Food Drive that results in over 1,500 lbs of donated items for the STEP food shelf

Catholic Service Appeal

Our Lady of Grace participates in the Archdiocesan outreach efforts such as the Catholic Services Appeal, the Center for Mission collections, and other efforts to make Jesus Christ known and loved throughout the world. To learn more, visit the Catholic Services Appeal Website.

Sharing & Caring Hands

Sharing & Caring Hands is a compassionate response to the needs of the poor. They are set up to be a safety-net organization to help with whatever needs are not being met. This includes but is not limited to providing meals, clothing, showers, shelter, transportation help, rent deposits, rent help, medical assistance, dental care, furniture, school expenses, and other miscellaneous needs. OLG volunteers serve meals at Sharing & Caring Hands every month. Clothing and household goods are regularly donated by the OLG community for the benefit of the guests and residents of Sharing & Caring Hands and Mary’s Place.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is one of Our Lady of Grace’s outside ministry partners, and it helps seniors remain in their homes through delivering healthy meals to them. Contact the Parish Office at 952-929-3317 for more information or to volunteer as a driver on the first Monday and/or fourth Friday of each month. The time commitment varies between 60 and 75 minutes each time. Contact Edina Meals on Wheels at 612-623-3363 or click here if you or someone you know would like to receive meals.

Pro-Life Activities

Pro-Life Activities are important at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. We work with Abria Pregnancy Resources, Cradle of Hope, New Life Family Center and Southwest Options for Women. Additionally, we have hosted a Mass to celebrate adoptions. Please help us continue this important work by dropping off diapers and other baby supplies outside of Cassidy Hall.
