Living as a Christian means living a counter-cultural life.
This is especially true when it comes to our understanding of human sexuality. Entirely contrary to the trend of "hooking up", sex is an integral part of God's design for humanity to be nurtured in the context of self-giving love.
To understand this, we have to go back to how God "created them male and female," how relationships come together, the covenant of marriage, and how sex is God's truly creative plan for giving life.
This YDisciple series tackles the subject in a candid and unflinching way to give a credible alternative to everything young people hear from our world.

Keep waiting patiently for Him
I pray you have had a good start to Advent. Growing up, my mom would always choose a daily Advent reflection book and read from it before we left the dinner table. The rest of my family, myself included, would groan. We did not have the patience to sit and listen. Now that I look back at it, I wish I had paid more attention to the reflections because Advent is a beautiful time to reflect and prepare for the coming of Jesus. See more...

Greetings all!
Yesterday at our LifeNight we started out with doing an Ignation Exam prayer where we meditated on the past week and what we are truly grateful for- then we got to have some fun with Arts and Crafts!
The Liturgy Commission has invited all of OLG to participate in their Advent focus this year. In keeping with the year’s focus of gratitude, they are posing the question : "What are you bringing to the manger?” There will be an empty manger in the commons and small “gift boxes” available in which to put a note of gratitude. The “gift” will then be placed in the manger.
While they do have many boxes already "made", they hope each family will take the template home and make a family project out of it, and bringing it back the next week. You can color the cruciform shape, cut it out and tape it up! What a great activity to do right after Thanksgiving! We want to fill the manger with gratitude! It will then be placed in the baptistery during Christmastide. I want to encourage you to duplicate the pattern (attached) and perhaps work on this at home just like we did during LifeNight!
ANNNND to close up the night we played a bunch of new games- in the hope that everyone would stop trying to get us to play Sardines for the 38741093465134956093847589 time ;)
Thank you to all who came, and we can't WAIT to see you all next week, so we can DECORATE THE FRASSATI ROOM for CHRISTMAS!

With trust and open eyes, we will see how wonderfully He blesses us daily
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I was so blessed to be able to spend a week in Minnesota and speak after the Masses at my home parish, Our Lady of Grace. I am so grateful to Fr. Kevin for supporting me and allowing me this wonderful opportunity. I also shared my vocation story with the 2nd and 8th graders at OLG School, the youth group, the Serra Club at OLG, and St. Lucy's Guild at St. Patrick's Church. I am so grateful to all those who worked with me and allowed me to speak to those groups. I am also so grateful to all those who I met with as well as those who felt called to support me after hearing me talk after Mass. Thanks to all of you, I greatly increased the amount I have raised! God truly blessed me through you. See more....
